The teasing is apparently over for former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. Even before his presidential bid crashed and burned in spectacular fashion, Democrats had been pleading with him to drop out and take a run at Cory Gardners Senate seat. Apparently, Hickenlooper is taking the Vox populi, vox Dei approach because he announced this morning that he will be doing precisely that. (Associated Press)

Don’t recall Hickenlooper doing anything great as Colo. governor,so maybe he could fail elsewhere as well.

Seat’s gone. Maybe Mike Shanahan or Elway. HailMary more ways than one.
Cory Gardner had better get on board the Trump train or lose.
Hickenlooper is the 10,000 pound gorilla in that field. Now that he's in he'll take the nomination in a walk and win the seat from Gardner next year. On the plus side so long as Moore doesn't win the nomination in Alabama then this should be a wash and the GOP will still have 53 sets. It'll all depend on Kansas, Iowa, Maine, and Arizona. The Democrats could take one or more of those with the right candidate.
I heard a clip from an ad announcing his candidacy. He said something like “Washington isn’t the kind of place for a guy like me who likes to get things done. But these are not times to stand by the wayside.”
Washington isn’t the place for a guy like him who wants to get things done, and that’s why he first ran for President and now Senator.
For at least a year, I’ve thought Gardner’s toast no matter who runs against him.
Too bad Gardner couldn’t bring himself to side with the citizens and the rule of law, now it’s going to cost him his seat.
He's registered as a dem... for the libs, that's plenty.
“Cory Gardner had better get on board the Trump train or lose.”
This.
He better learn from the Mike Coffman mistakes or he will repeat history.
Pandering to the progressives, who will NEVER vote repub, will guarantee defeat. The conservatives will walk away from him if he denigrates and distances himself from Trump.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
I receive Gardner emails on a daily basis now. He must be very nervous. And he deserves to be.
Of course he’s running. He’s a sneaky control freak and as you know, he’s good at acting like a moderate (with help from the Colorado press). I’ve had dealings with him, in my view he’s created a persona that covers his true intentions.
They’ve tried to recruit Elway a few times. He doesn’t want to take the pay cut.
Seriously? Did Elway actually say he wouldn’t run for senator because of the pay cut? If so, I’m very disappointed in him.
Colorado and California
“Dont recall Hickenlooper doing anything great as Colo. governor,so maybe he could fail elsewhere as well.”
He did a couple of things liberals thought were great. Commuted the death sentence of a murderer of 4 innocents and tried to outlaw large capacity ammo clips.
So, he overturned the Colorado justice system’s lawful action against a killer and tried to make law-abiding citizens criminals with the stroke of a pen.
They've also tried to get Pete Coors to run.
