South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg held a self-described grassroots campaign rally in Bronzeville on Tuesday night, but the overwhelmingly white audience he drew to the event in a historic black neighborhood reinforced the difficulty the Democratic presidential hopeful has had in connecting with African American voters.
Buttigieg did not acknowledge the makeup of the audience in his remarks or in answering questions from the 1,000 people at the sold-out event, but did touch on it briefly as he closed the hourlong rally with a plea for his supporters.

This is my last mayor buttplugg thread. Why give it any attention. He doesn’t intend to win the nomination. He is there to condition the populace into accepting a president that is a fag someday.

For starters black and Hispanics males have not yet been hipsterized and emasculated like white males in culture into accepting gays.
Hispanic males still have machismo.
If he wanted to see real black people, he should have gone south of 63rd. I did that on foot down Woodlawn from U of C by accident once—learned a valuable geography lesson that day.

Still remember as a kid in the 60’s my father driving from South bend across the Chicago skyway and up South State Street north into town.
It was scary even then.
I have never met a black man that likes, or even tolerates homos!!!
They still have their own cultures that prize manliness and “machismo” much more than the feminized, emasculated white culture of modern America.
Yeah, and it doesn't help that they seem to have gone from the "bullied" to the "bully" in record time.
I lost my appetite for compassion toward these people when they started pushing their agenda in grade schools; and, destroying the life of a 72 yo woman for the crime of not baking them a cake. That poor woman lost her business, her home, her savings and her retirement savings to these people, trying to defend herself against them in court.
That was the end for me. Horrible people.

Indeed there are gay blacks and hispanics.
It is drawn from what those cultures teach about masculinity, “male respect” (or ‘machismo’ in Spanish), religion (most Mexican people are raised in conservative Catholic Churches and an undercurrent of the Southern Protestant fundamentalism still runs deep in many American Blacks), and a perception that life is tough enough with the skin color, why make it tougher doing THAT?
An interesting observation has been made by sociologists — in a minority community, ‘irregular’ behaviors are less tolerated than they are in the majority or dominant community. The speculation is that the community senses it cannot become too ‘different’.
