How a US Congresswoman Can Help Palestinians
The Gatestone Institute ^ | August 21, 2019 | Bassam Tawil

While Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib is using the controversy surrounding her visit as an excuse to launch scathing attacks on Israel, Palestinians seem to be more worried about failed leaders in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This concern is not something that Tlaib seems to share with Palestinians because for her the only wrong-doing is coming from Israel.

[snip]As a Congresswoman, Tlaib should have been worried that a US Embassy was forced to cancel an event to help Palestinians because of threats and calls for a boycott.

It would have been helpful had the Palestinian-American Congresswoman made an effort to persuade Palestinian Authority officials to resume their relations with the US administration and explore ways of boosting the Palestinian economy and improving living conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. As a Congresswoman, she should be working to build, and not destroy, bridges between her people and the US. Her fierce attacks on Israel and the US administration, however, embolden Palestinian hardliners and fuel hate against Israelis and Americans.

The history of Israel and Palestine is most interesting...Rashida Tlaib should return to "her people" if she feels so strongly the land belongs to "her People".

Palestinian dissidents are murdered in the streets by roving gangs enforcing their interpretation of the law. They are left for dead in the street or strung up on lamp posts like victims of Mexican drug mafias. They lucky ones just get thrown in jail without trial and beaten.

The author is correct the #1 problem is the crappy political leadership of the Palestinians. When was the last time they even had a free and fair election?

Note that even under the 1947 partition plan, no one had to leave their land if they were in the wrong zone. It turned out that the Arabs left because they were promised the whole shebang if they got out of the way of the conquering Arab forces in the 1948 war. But, it also turned out that Jews were summarily evicted from any lands held by the Arabs.

Note the asymmetry.

There is so much land in the Mideast for these people but other states will not give up any land as Israel can ill afford to give up anything but does its best to help them as they get the middle finger in return and the Palis murder Jews. They are being thrown money to change their ways but they are held hostage by their Islamic Nazi Mafia to refuse any and all propositions except to wipe Israel off of the planet.
