It is intended to rally support to the Mainland government position, and a lot of Chinese artists have endorsed it (probably after being pressured).

I hasten top remind you that there are videos of rioters who actually amassed in front of the Police Station. The cops had to disperse them with tear gas.
There were people assaulting the police as well. And I have to say — THE HK POLICE HAVE EXERCISED REMARKABLE RESTRAINT!
Look, if you want to protest, do so. I support your goals and collective desires, but the moment you descend to public defacement and violence, I draw the line. You lose the moral high ground that way.
This applies not only to HK, it also applies here at home.
