I think it is moot anyway, because the gun-grabbers have confiscation as their real goal and we all know it. However, a compromise suggestion as outlined might score a few points with the political fence sitters if given enough publicity.
Which is no sure thing given our Goebbels media. It does make for interesting rhetoric to expose their true agenda.
