I recently bought some high-dollar LED bulbs. Supposed to last 13 years. 10 months is more like it.
I wondered why the bulbs failed so soon, until I felt of one that I took out of the socket right after the failure. Very hot to the touch. Power supply failure.
I think the way they figure 13 years is if its used for a total of 2 minutes every day. Its such a scam.
We went all-LED when we moved two years ago. The light quality is better, waste heat is negligible, and the electric bill savings is $50-$75 per month, so we’ve already recovered the entire cost. Haven’t had to change one yet.
