Read the linked article....now it is clear.
Here is a quote from her “Sr Lucy said, Generally, we must seek permission before publishing a book, if we want to do so. However, after repeatedly asking for permission, since 2016, they refused to consider my request. I have always wholeheartedly offered my salary to the Congregation. However, when I requested the Superior for some money to buy a car to travel for my social works, they denied it. When I was completely denied my benefits, I was determined to take a loan and buy the car. I do not consider it as a violation. “
So....she disobeyed professed authority and wants to remain. You can’t have it both ways. To save the Church in her opinion she disobeyed. So you martyr yourself for the Church then do so. Sounds like she didn’t accept martyrdom but wanted celebrity of doing her own thing yet staying a nun. That’s antithetical to being obedient. She’s out and needs to be out.
And the catholics still wonder why the Reformation came about.
What she did was admirable!
Except for the “writing poetry” part. Blech.
Yes, the article was extremely confusing & needed editing, but..
...i taught at a Catholic school for 12 years & the disparity between the nuns & priests was mind blowing.
The priests lived in luxury & the nuns scraped by. I became close to several nuns & it sickened me to see them work so hard & the overfed priests walking smugly around.
