Yea, it was Kennedy sending John Tunny (I think his office manager) over there to tell the Soviets to wait out Reagan. That came out soon after the Cold War ended.
Regarding the Sandinistas - that was like the entire Democrat leadership back then, giving them political advice to try to stay in power through Reagan’s presidency. This was pretty much known real-time, as I remember
There is NO WAY either could be called anything but PURE TREASON, and what really sucks about it is that virtually NO ONE, not even people on our side, seemed all that upset or worried about what the Democrats were doing and no one would question their patriotism, when it was OBVIOUSLY proven to be suspect (at best). Perhaps if we had identified the Democrats for who they really are back then, they would never have again gotten the level of power that they’ve had and still have.
And, sadly, when we find out that Trump was NOT a Russian Agent, very few on our side seemed bothered by the fact that the country was lied to for 3 friggen years, and very few seemed bothered that our entire intelligence apparatus was turned against a political candidate. They only seemed relieved that it was used against a Republican, for they know the country would have had a MELTDOWN if the same had been done against a Democrat.
I’m thankful that we have a Republican in the WH who can run circles around these people and their propaganda machine, and tie them up and brand them, too. Can’t ever “question their patriotism,” because they’re ready for that. What can be done, however, is hoist them on their own petar, and that is happening, and they are going nuts.
