For people like Ann Coulter and him, there is no return on investment for being status quo. The only way they get TV time or invites to the popular media spotlight is by saying things that are controversial. Ann has turned the process of making money from controversy into a cottage industry, her only motivation is to promote the stock price for Ann Coulter Inc.

For sure there is no money in being a Trump supporter - the media is only interested in hearing from those who can be an interesting adversary and appeal to the Trump-hating liberal audience.

You do realize this guy was worth hundreds of millions of dollars long before anyone ever knew who he was? This guy may do some of this stuff as a side hustle to amuse himself but lets be real, he does not need to do any of this media stuff for money. He doesn't need money.
