NY Times reporting “He appeared to have tied a bedsheet to the top of a set of bunk beds, then knelt toward the floor with enough force that he broke several bones in his neck, officials said.”

Is that possible? Without a running, jumping or falling start, how did he get enough force behind him to break multiple bones?

I don’t think kneeling would do it.

There would need to be plenty of slack in the sheets, tied really well, and then with the body straight, lean over as if falling flat on the face.

I think kneeling is the way most people would do it, which would lead to strangulation and that can break the hyoid bone, but any other bones I doubt.
