People tend to forget the “Law of Unintended Consequences” when they rush to pass legislation.
Back in 1968 the Gun Control Law was passed. One of the early recipients of Unintended Consequences was a Tulsa antique dealer who unwittingly violated the part about “importing Military munitions”, which under the law was now illegal.
His crime, which got him raided, was he imported, from England, musket flints for black powder rifles. FLINTS!

Suburban women who tend to vote liberal are taking over. This morning on the news a group of women mayors from around the country are wanting to enact gun control measures.
My own semi rural town has a woman mayor and 4 out of 6 councilmen are women and all are bat crazy liberal on social issues.
The NRA does not need to spend a lot of money after every bad shooting by some nutter to rebut the anti-gun groups. I’m an NRA member and we are activists on our own — I emailed my state representatives to tell them to resist the Democrat efforts to burden we legal and honest gun owners with anti-gun laws that won’t change what the bad guys do. My reps are republicans and they called me on the phone to assure me no votes would happen on WI Gov. Evers gun grabs.
True. The NRA is now a worthless, crooked organization, and I became a Life member in the late 70s.
I’m terribly confused. On 9/11, some people did somethings, and 3000 Americans died and countless billions in damage both in real estate and the economy. But we were all lectured that to blame all muslims for those crimes is islamaphobic.
Every year based upon population black crime greatly outpaces crimes committed by all other races in the US. But if we point out those stats you’re a bloody racist.
We can’t even talk about illegal immigration and the crimes committed by those people without being castigated.
But yet, someone commits a crime like the two recent shootings and everyone that owns a gun (except for the protection details of those freedom loving tolerant liberals) is suddenly responsible and should lose their rights?
