This could be “Alaska II”. It was called “Seward’s folly”, but it was an American tradition. We also bought the Louisiana Purchase and the Gadsen Purchase.

I was thinking about Alaska, too. On a show I saw yesterday everyone was saying, “tsk tsk”, and shaking their heads at Trump’s idiocy. I thought they’d have been doing the same thing when we bought Alaska.
