Elizabeth was taken out of her bed in the middle of the night by an intruder who gained access via an open window in her room.

Right.

And then they all went camping and she couldn't escape from a tent.

And then they went to a mall and she couldn't escape in a mall.

One might almost think she wasn't particularly interested in escaping.

I think Smart went willingly....apparently she and other girls had met this creep from what I remember.....she probably thought it was an adventure....

I DO NOT BLAME HER AT ALL.....she was a young naive girl who listened to her elders.....

but I do wish the cops had actually looked into the splinter Mormon groups in the area and she could have been rescued earlier....as it was, she was just walking down the street when she was "found"..
