Automatics are already bannedThey’re taxed, expensive due to supply and demand, the newest ones that are legal for civilians to own are more than 30 years old, and the paperwork is onerous to get one, but they’re not illegal. At least not in most states.

That’s part of the problem. Most people are misinformed by the media and grandstanding politicians. People think an AR-15 is a machine gun that shoots hundreds of rounds a minute and you just pay cash for them at gun shows, no questions asked. A lot of disinformation.
