"Many of you most likely know this story already, but the P-38 Glacier Girl was one of six P-38s and two B-17s that had to make an emergency landing on an icecap in Greenland on July 15th, 1942 due to inclement weather. The crews were collected unharmed and the 8 planes were left there to be eventually covered by snow and ice."

The article says that we also considered buying Iceland once. These days, the value of Iceland is perhaps 4 orders of magnitude greater than Greenland. If ever there was good time in recent history to buy Iceland, it would have been in 2008 after their financial banking debacle where some turds destroyed their economy. But now, they've recovered. Geothermal RULES! They have a blooming energy business, and tons of related side businesses. Frinstance', they actually are exporters of Strawberries!
In contrast, there is not much development at all in Greenland. It's all just potential... huge, but only potential.
(thoroughly enjoyed a week in Iceland earlier this year; only flew over Greenland on the way)
