> PA State Police were too busy to respond quickly to crimes which were unlikely to produce revenue for the state. <
A friend of mine lives literally right next door to a PA State Police barracks. Well, one day he comes home from work to find his back door wide open. So he runs over to the barracks for help. Call the township police says one of the troopers.
There is a legitimate issue in that more and more small townships and boroughs are shutting down their police departments to save money and tossing the burden of policing their town on the State Police.
So many have done so that it’s raised legitimate arguments about cost-dumping and whether or not the State Police are prepared to handle that workload.
