All the stickers do is let them actively troll for people who forgot to send in their renewal.
These stickers, and the current license plate readers, were a great way for cops to avoid allegations of racism when pulling cars over. When the defendant insists he/she was pulled over for “driving while black”, the cop simply points out that the car isn’t registered - end of racist conspiracy theory. This was an issue here in NJ, and now cops simply let the urban populations tear each other apart; it is about containment rather than fixing anything.
