Israel blocks Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib from entering country over ‘promotion of BDS’

Israel has decided to bar Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib from entering the country on Friday after fierce debates on the contentious matter involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and various ministers, Israel’s deputy foreign minister said Thursday.

“The decision has been made, the decision is not to allow them to enter,” Tzipi Hotovely told Israel’s Reshet Radio, Reuters reported.

The reason cited for their ban is reportedly “suspected provocations and promotion of BDS,” a reference to the anti-Israel boycott movement, according to the Times of Israel, which cited a report by local Channel 12.

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri made the decision to bar the US lawmakers from entering the country on Friday, according to the report.

It's a law that no one that supports BDS can come into Israel.

Supporting BDS shows that you do not allow Israel to be a state and that you want all Jews to leave.

Plus the Gov offered to meet with them if they came to Israel.

They refused to meet with political leaders of Israel.

So their whining has no foundation

They only wanted to go to the “occupied” areas to meet with Hamas and other terrorists.

And cause disturbances to effect the elections next month.

They can be compared to what Russia was doing during our election.

Crybabies all of them.

So many threads. I do think it was an error. As I understand it their agenda to promote BDS was known to Israel. IMO, better to let them vent their propaganda in "palestine", then throw them out of the country. I've read it included a visit to the Temple Mount accompanied by PA officials, and rejecting Israeli security. Bad stuff. Nice if Israel would release what they have of their plans, but no matter. Tlaib's rejection of a visit to Granny without the right to promote BDS openly demonstrates their duplicity.

It's worth noting that, to my knowledge, this trip, organized by MIFTAH, did not include time in Israel, only Judea and Samaria, those areas under palestinian control. Might have been better if they'd gone along on the AIPAC trip for freshman, which included time with both sides of the conflict.
