Wednesday on CNNs Newsroom, 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said mandatory buybacks of assault rifles with the threat of criminal prosecution was a strong idea.
Poppy Harlow said, So on the assault weapons issue, you have talked openly about being in favor of an assault weapons ban. Im interested if you are supportive of a mandatory buyback program for assault weapons. It was brought up first by Eric Swalwell, who was running for president in your party. Cory Booker has talked about that. Some are gone as far as to say not only should it be a mandatory buyback of assault rifles, but there should be criminal prosecution for those who dont sell them back. Is that something you support?
Gillibrand said, I think we should ban assault weapons as well as large magazines. As part of passing that ban, do a buyback program across the country so that those who own them can be compensated for the money they spent. But I think both of those ideas are strong.
....
Gillibrand said, So the point is you dont want people using assault weapons. So the point is, if you are arrested for using an assault weapon, youre going to have an aggravated felony. The whole point is when you make it a crime to own an assault weapon, then if you are found using it, that would be the issue. So it would just be part of your law enforcement in terms of what you have access to.

I really think that the red flag laws are going to be done by EO if one of these Dems wins. The FBI and ATF will be beefed up to do it. I wouldn’t be surprised if some mercs (foreign troops) are used.
So we could have one commie FBI leading a platoon of mercs.
Then, if someone is caught murdering somebody, theyll be charged with a felony.
Im calling her right now to offer my services as a policy adviser.
Isnt Swalwell the guy who said gun owners would be nuked?
I hope she keeps talking.
Make your move, tyrant.
It’ll be your last.
“Going to confiscate the firearms at Concord was a strong idea too...until it wasnt.”
Yeah, how’d that work out again?
Prosecuting liberals is a “strong” idea too.
Bring it.
Gun control don't go 'round here, pasty face!
This bitch will be lucky to survive the Civil War that results.
It is sure starting to look as if she and the other “candidates” actually want a civil war.
The FBI claims that the info on you and your gun purchase is deleted and not kept after you are cleared for purchase.
So, how would the feds know who to come after for not turning in guns that the FBI claims it doesn’t know you bought?
The FBI already has a de facto gun registry with all the background checks it says it did not keep.
Raise your hand if you truly believe that the information from your LEGAL gun purchases is gone from the FBI databases. Then hit yourself in the face with that hand. Because you are stupid.
ALL gun owners should have a couple of firearms acquired via private transaction. They might save your life someday.
They’re semi-automatic rifles intended for the civilian market.
FU, Gillibrand.
When a Government goes will beyond being a Government it becomes an Evil Dictatorship
I talked to some legislators in Montgomery, Alabama on Monday.
IF this federal ban and buyback happens (and they don’t think it will), they will pass a bill declaring Alabamians who own AR’s and semi-autos to be under a state Gun Owners Sanctuary law.
Our state motto “Audemus jura nostra defendere” (We dare defend our rights).
She's not aging well.
So DUI by an illegal alien, when an American is killed, will now be a capital offense?
Like I’ve been telling you...she is a complete idiot. Whoever ordered her up sure went for the Deluxe Idiot Kit!
Gillibrand: Such prosecutions would not be fincially feasible.
Stop and frisk would save many lives in Chicago. Wonder what they think of imposing that?
