We got a partial victory on the noise front.

The people behind us had filed for an exception to the noise ordinance to allow them to go until 11pm instead of stopping at 10pm. Someone at the county office let us know so we started calling the supervisors non stop. Two weeks ago we packed the building at the supervisors meeting. When they asked if anyone was there to oppose the exception application about 90 of us stood up. The board called a quick 30 minute recess and left the room. The offending neighbors, who had their lawyer with them, also left.
When everyone came back the board announced that the application had been pulled and the event would be taking place on adjoining land that is in another county.

The land they have cleared is about 1/3 of a mile from my back door instead of the 100 yards their stages have been. Depending on how the stages are situated it should be a definite improvement.
We are still going to push to get a more realistic noise level set.
