Our county didn’t have a noise ordinance until a few years ago. Some New Jersey assholes bought a small farm that butts up to my back yard.
They started having rock concerts basically in my back yard. My windows vibrated and the silverware would dance on the table.
This would go on Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 a.m., nothing the law could do because no noise ordinance.

The Board of Supervisors were finally pressured into passing a noise ordinance. They unanimously passed a noise ordinance without citizen imput, no citizen commentary allowed.
The ordinance does stipulate a 10 p.m. end time. The neighbors regularly keep the music going until midnight then start the stereo until around 3 a.m.
The noise level stipulated in the ordinance is a paltry 95 decibels.
My windows still shake and my silverware still dances.

This summer they have been quiet, only one show that was over by 8 p.m. and was strangely quiet.
Then it dawned on me.
This is an election year and the Supervisor for our district is being challenged by a man who lives in our neighborhood.

Could get interesting.

We still don’t have a noise ordinance. A resort went in at the end of the block and our windows rattle just like yours. Half the houses have turned into weekend rentals and they add to the drunk party noise. I used to love the peace and quiet but no more.

Get on the new guy’s campaign!
