The Trump administration is moving again to make it more difficult for even legal immigrants to get a foothold in the United States.
This is absurd - why should the US welcome immigrants who will immediately require public assistance? We want immigrants who are self-sufficient and will immediately contribute to the American economy, not those who will immediately ask others to help them financially.

Social security offices in Washington State and no doubt California and elsewhere are chock-full of Indians and Chinese elderly that never worked a day in their lives in the US, collecting benefits. It’s every H1B’s dream to bring over their whole clan to collect unearned benefits from the USA

As a practical matter, it is a lot less costly to be a public ward in El Salvador or Somalia. We have a more than ample supply of native born slackards. We need not be importing any.
