I remember reading that short story as a freshman in high school late 70s /early 80s.
Except in the novella, the general was already an accomplished hunter, elitist as he was.
Several versions of Most Dangerous Game were done in classic radio days, and in the mid-1960’s was the basis for a Man from UNCLE episode. Once again Hollywood has no original ideas anymore.
