WASHINGTON — Moving ahead despite objections, the Trump administration on Friday set a timetable for federally funded family clinics to comply with a new rule that bars them from referring women for abortions.
The move is part of a series of efforts to remake government policy on reproductive health to please conservatives who are a key part of President Donald Trump’s political base. Religious conservatives see the family planning program as providing an indirect subsidy to Planned Parenthood, a major abortion provider.

Those first two lines in the article are not straight journalistic reporting but rather a blatant author spun narrative.
What I wouldn’t give for the good old days when an article actually would report the facts in unbiased terms and let you make an educated conclusion based on the “unspun facts”

Stand by for clinics to announce they are defying the rules in idiotic leftist street theater for the election.
But I'd love to live to see an AP wire service story that says Trump is "moving forward rapidly" to craft "compassionate, enlightened" legislation to prevent the "commodification of women" (and other pregnant people) in our "most vulnerable communities," and the exploitation our "undocumented unemployed unborn youth" by the "profit-driven abortion-industrial complex."
I'd try to work in "fearless," "historic," "culturally-sensitive," "diverse," "inclusive," "courageous", and a couple other shiny specimen words from my Progressive Adjective Thesaurus as well.
