Using false information that has no standing for a FISA warrant is also criminal if I'm not mistaken. Sending the known fake dossier to buzzfeed to make it a creditable source is the key.

Discredit buzzfeed as a legitimate news source. Find dirt on Buzzfeed that is not only fake news but intentional false news for propaganda purposes. Off hand I don't know one (I can look into it if you wish)

This says dossier never was legitimate because sending it to Buzzfeed is no different then sending it to Pravda to legitimate the dossier.

That's one of the process crimes I was referring to, essentially perjury or false statements, but in the form of fraud on the court.

I can imagine a way to convert that into illegal spying, removing the statutory defense available in 50 USC 1809(b). Either way, perjury of "illegal snooping," the penalty is 5 years max., $10,000 fine. This statute might also be used to capture leaking of the Flynn phone call with Kislyak.

I don't think it's necessary to discredit Buzzfeed. The material in the FBI interviews of Ohr is on the right track.

The issue I see is that people will be disappointed if US government interfering with the election, and nearly throwing it, boils down to perjury or illegal snooping or illegal leaking, and nothing more.
