I think that she was a girl playing like a boy but kept that information to only a few people and it may have been a somewhat recent situation. Otherwise I’ve got to think that high school/college friends would have already spilled the beans. Given pictures that I have seen, Megan wasn’t the most feminine looking thing. Regardless of whatever she was, she did not deserve to die the way she did. May she RIP.
