Twitter has become a sewer.
I agree that Twitter is a sewer to the extent that one reads the comments or the tweets of twits. However, as a bulletin board that allows for cutting out the gatekeepers (media, corporate, government, self-appointed judges of the quality of discourse...), it is genius and invaluable IMO. It has been a tremendous tool for Pres Trump. The danger, currently materializing, is that under the guise of cleaning it up, we will be left with a filtered and censored Twitter. Speech where someone else, particularly someone working for the government or big business, decides which speech is hateful, harassing, beyond the pale... is not free speech.
