'Medicare for All' complicates Democrats' pitch to retake Senate (Pander 2020)

The divide over health care among Democratic presidential candidates is raising fears the party might turn an issue that was a key winner in the House midterms into a liability in next year's Senate races.

Democratic Senate candidates have been planning to borrow heavily from the playbook used by House Democrats in 2018, when the party won back the chamber in large part because of a pledge to protect ObamaCare against Republican attempts to kill the 2010 law.

Democrats are attempting to replicate that success with a push to take the majority in the Senate during an election year when they will face a more favorable map than the midterms. Republicans must defend 22 seats compared to the 12 held by Democrats.

But worries are rising that the bitter dispute among White House hopefuls over the direction of health care will weigh on Democrats and give a boost to GOP incumbents.

Progressive presidential candidates like Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) are backing an ambitious "Medicare for All" plan, while some centrists say the proposal is akin to repealing ObamaCare.

In doing so, strategists warn that moderates are using language that is essentially playing into the hands of President Trump and other Republicans.

“That kind of rhetoric is very, very harmful,” said Brad Bannon, a Democratic strategist. “It illustrates the divide in the party, and I think this whole debate is confusing people.”

Democrats are hoping to stay unified on health care in Colorado and Arizona, where they’re pushing to unseat vulnerable Republican senators by tying them to the Trump administration’s efforts to undo the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Medicare for all would not be. It would be government-run healthcare that replaced Medicare. The elderly would be denied cancer treatment so that dem voters could have their “free” aids care, euthanasia, abortion, and sex-”change” operations.

In 2018 Democrats ran on the LIE that Republicans were going to take away coverage from those with pre-existing conditions.

That would be great - Medicare for all - I’m sure the Democrats mean all Politian’s, military, Public service personnel, and Unions would all been included.

MEET SHANNO MACLEOD ABANDONED BY CANADA’S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. SINCE THIS WAS WRITTEN HE HAS BROKEN HIS BACK LAST MONTH.

https://www.cumberlandnewsnow.com/news/regional/glace-bay-man-with-incurable-condition-cant-find-a-doctor-174052/?fbclid=IwAR1DPHt7ewjb4TaZC_fgfoszdqtolN09KWW2Okp7-3Ggx2Nawnd4_XLW6uM

These are Shannon’s words, verbatium.

Here’s a wonderful story. In February I had my assistace cut off from supportive liveing in Glace Bay. 1 902 842 9388.
They said they would keep it running through till march but,it was cut off two week’s later.
In June they cut me off from medication coverage a week before my prespcriptions were due. medication that I expressly told supportive living I couldn’t afford.
I called social services to try to get medication covered. I was hung up on three time’s.

Today I spoke to a person at supportive living to find out why my medication coverage was cut off in the first place. She hung up in my ear.

I have since been forced to tapper off the most expensive medications & went through nine weeks of withdrawl from cymbalta. This medication is used as an anti depressant & neuropathic pain.
I stopped using a blood pressure medication. I’ve tappered down to 50mg from 200mg of amitriptyline,I cant go any lower or my extremities start to burn & cause horrible pain that I can’t endure. This is from extensive nerve damage throughout my whole body.
All other medication was cut to miniscule dosages, crendering them near ineffective.

Just for shits & giggles, google
adhesive arachnoiditis at stage III severe catagory.
Just look at what it does to the human body. It destroys your central nervous system & causes innumerable complications.
I’ll be adding to this very soon because this is the day I found out that I will not be helped in any way. I never chose to get sick,I never wanted any of this but,I’m sure as hell blamed for it.
There’s lot’s to tell & lot’s of detailed information on how I was gradually reduced to a agonizing existence. No life, existance only.
I have plenty of name’s & places. You need to know what could very well happen to you. Nobody’s immune to illness or injury, you could be next. A moment in time is all it takes.

Is this what you are looking for even if it’s not in the USA?

Gail Honadle. Shannon’s FB friend.

I have to put things in sequence to fully understand the nightmare that has come to life.
March 2005 I blew out a disc when I was putting my daughter in her car seat. Four days off & back to work.
May 2006 I couldn’t keep up at work I had to leave.
February 2007 after going to hospital 5 or 6 times I was so far gone I had to be life flighted to a larger hospital. I developed guillian barre syndrom & was paralyzed from head to toe.
April of 2007 I was discharged.
The tremendous pressure inmy legs gradually turned to pain. My lower back ached constantly.
February 2009 I went to the pain clinic & tried various kinds of of medications & one in particular,
methadone damn near killed me.
Even at the smallest doses it made me very sick. I stopped breathing in my sleep.
From late 2009 to 2011 I had numerous operations to ease the pain in my back. It was mid 2010 the pain started getting worse.
2011 more operations & near years end the back pain was getting worse but couldnt understand why.
2012 my marriage was over & I had to start all over again. This was one of the most traumatic events in my life.
2014 new doctors at the pain clinic. By march I was cut off & started back on a small dose in the next couple of weeks.
After telling the doc’s there was something wrong with my back for many month’s I finally got an mri. I was called back to the hospital the minute I walked through the door. I went back & was told I have arachnoiditis & it was no big deal. April 2014 to August of that year I was escallated to a 50mcg fentanyl patch. I finally started moving around again & it wasn’t too bad until 2016. I was called in for random counts & urine tests all year. In December I was told I had trace ammounts of hydromophone in my urine test.
When asked how much is trace?
“Almost imperceptable”
There was no damn way there was anything in my system & I fought it tooth & nail.
I was dropped on another doctor who was supposed to evaluate me. I had to be cut off by more than 80% overnight & it had to be
January 1st 2017. A little suspicious from my perspective. 2017 I was told I had adhesive arachnoiditis, this was well after the 2014 diagnosis. Why dis they mot tell me this in the first place?
September 2017 I was “urged” to get a spinal stimulator. In what would be come an unnecessary surgury,I had it done anyway.
After the first surgury I wasnt given anything post discharge & nothing after the second.
It was hell for a goo while.
In January 2018 I told the media of what was happening & there was no support from anyone.
I went to Toronto to find help. There was no refferal because the last thing I was told at the pain clinic was to find an mla & figure out how to get to Cleaveland. No way was I going to get funding for Cleavland.
Anyway I came back & I was kicked out of the pain clinic
Because I was “a waste of resources & time. There’s nothing we can do for you”
I was passed off to a general practicioner. He knew nothing about the disease & frankly didn’t care.
Keep in mind I contacted the college of physician’s & surgeons, the royal college & even the office of the prime minister.
There was also contact with human rights, human rights watch & every other medical body I could think of. I couldn’t get help from anyone.
In June of 2018 I was told by a leading doctor that the best treatment was within myself....
I had no idea I went to a buddist temple? Was this guy yoda?
The next day June 5th,my father died that morning. This was too much & I went into a massive flare. I fought through the wake & funeral before goingvto see my GP. I wnt in alone & he told me that “if I had it my way,I would take you off of all medication”
That is when I knew I was in for a very long fight & I was right.
I fought with that doc until May of 2019 & I told him in February of of 2019 the modulator was causung more pain than ever before & it’s being pushed out of my body with what seems to be massing scar tissue. It’s bulging out of my side a few millimeters & I need to pay attention with taking off or putting on my trousers because it can get hooked. When it hooks the pain will drop me to the floor.
There’s one Doctor I feel bad about being short tempered with
Dr.Laith Shimone...I feel horrible for being so ill tempered. He’s the only one who was trying to help but,I didn’t see it that way at the time.
I found out that the stim pack was only supposed to be used on newer injuries, the damagecto my spinal cord was pre-existing for a long time. I also found out that it was never supposed to be used on anyone with AA. These units have a high failure rate as well & this was known long before the surgury. They did it anyway. June of this year I became very ill on my birthday & I haven’t been the same since.
I’ll explain all the complications & other problems shortly. I’m exhausted & can’t type another word.

Well someone hasn’t paid any damned attention at all as to how the V.A has been run for the past thirty years.

Democrat or Neocon (but I repeat myself) run healthcare would leave veterans on a waiting list until they died.

“Medicare for All” is code for “VA for All,” and should be judged on that standard.
