My family lived in that area both in the City and suburbs for generations going back over 150 years. Personally I did it for 15 years and still maintain my connection to many classmates and friends who are still there, and we talk about this frequently

Chicago has become an angry city and it has not abated, just morphed and spread. Shootings there yield little more than turning the channel or the page in a newspaper story. It is part of the culture and why so many are leaving to go somewhere, anywhere but Chicago
