I bought my current house new about 20 years ago and I can count on one hand the times I saw the police in my neighborhood. Not one murder here either.
It’s alright, an army of Democrat Presidential candidates will be there momentarily to save the day... Any second now. They’ll be speaking about it. Any moment. Yep. Wait for it... Wait... Well, least they will in 8 business hours. Err, I mean a business day. No, no, it’s 24 business hours, which only equates to 8 per day. Err, I mean sometime this week...

Even at 10-12 years old we had no problem getting guns/handguns in my Chicago neighborhood. I remember shooting a .38 special in a garage with friends - at one of those old rotisserie grills. Stupidity doesn’t even begin to describe it, but when you are that age, unsupervised, and in a place where you can find inappropriate things to do, you often will.
My point is just that it’s a different culture in the places in Chicago where these shootings are happening. That culture has to change, and no laws are going to make things markedly better until that happens.
And they still can’t read

I also sometimes listen to the CPD scanner in the evening, though it seems to be taken offline during major events — Lollapalooza, for example. It’s the same thing over and over and over: Two black males in hoodies stealing phones, black male refuses to leave store, black females fighting on CTA platform, large group of black teens gathering at Wabash and State, black female screaming and cursing at passersby, may be high or intoxicated.
Cesspools of multi-generational dependency are set to become exponentially worse as municipal bankruptcies commence...
In the meantime, the refusal of Chicago’s Mayor Lightfoot (black lesbian) to support the police and the Cook Co. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx (also black, called Crimesha by cops) refusal to charge black criminals . . . it’s a free-for-all. Add to that the rush of middle-class taxpayers for the exits . . . I’m glad to be rid of all that.

The violent crime rate for white men is about the same as crime rates in Finland.
