It certainly seems to be underway. Coming is THE Strong Delusion. I believe this demon was set loose in 2008.
After the world-wide economic crash, it only grew stronger.
It’s now a hydra-headed beast. Much like the hydra-headed world government beast to come.
Related is the observation that the widespread advocacy of homosexuality and now gender fluid identities can be viewed much the same as a canary dying in a mine, that it (just as a dead canary indicates the air is bad) indicates that people are refusing to retain knowledge of the Lord and as a consequence that Romans 1:18-32 is apparently going on a lot.
