When you come to get mine, let me give you some ammo to go along with it.

Bluster and tough talk for most Americans.

Here's how it's going to go down. There will be a buyback and then after that, the penalties for possessing a banned firearm will be so draconian, your life will be essentially ruined if you're caught with one. It'll be like getting busted with child porn. Go to prison for a long, long time and then the best job you'll ever hold after your release will be washing dishes in a Mexican restaurant. Lose your children, your home, your savings. You'll be sleeping under a bridge.

Think I'm wrong? Conservatives won't even punch in the face disrupters ringing cowbells and blowing whistles at events where conservatives are speaking and yet we're all going to somehow muster up the fortitude to shoot police officers?

No, as much as it pains me to have to say it, you are right. The sheep are comfortable and sated. They may be willing to fight after after they experience what the Government does to them and allows others to do to them after they surrendered their guns, but that won't be a fight, it will be a slaughter. And the Government will be doing the slaughtering.

Yes, you’re wrong.

The reality of the situation is, there are millions of those nasty “Assault Rifles” in the hands of millions of Americans. There are already millions of citizens who own millions of “banned” firearms across the nation who have not “obeyed” the powers that be regardless of the consequences.

How many turned in their banned weapons? (Relatively few)

How many decided to simply ignore the ban when it affected them personally? (The overwhelming majority).

Now, considering the above, why hasn’t the local government gone after these “scofflaws”?

It won’t be smooth. You’re right, most will go down without a fight and comply, but remember only 3% participated as soldiers in the American Revolution.

People will hide guns in unusual places. There will also be places, enclaves where local low enforcement won’t enforce the law. Criminals will still need guns for drugs, robberies, etc, and they will get them (or do you believe that crime will go away). If guns are turned in and no longer sold as they are today, do you know how much the guns and ammo will be worth on the black market? Don’t you remember the spikes in gun and ammo prices anytime the world’s best gun salesmen Barack Obama opened his mouth on this issue?

We already have 2.1 million prisoners in this country, the most in the world and the highest per capita rate in the world. We would have so much crime and gun violations that you would need to at least double or triple the prison population very quickly.

Prohibition never works. But if they tried this it would make the 1920s look like a picnic.
