Rehab only works when you want to be there. Most addicts don't.

So true. The addict in our family did rehab at least four times, a couple of times at some very exclusive places (Sharon Stone was once a ‘classmate’). It seems to have finally taken as he’s been clean and sober for four years now. He’s in his sixties and it’s truly a miracle he’s still alive with all the abuse he subjected himself to. We all joke he’s going to outlive us all.

Congrats to your family member on his sobriety. It's always wonderful to hear of success stories and lives saved.

No one appreciates sobriety more than a recovering addict. I personally thank God every morning that I am not hungover.;-) What a wonderful feeling it is to be stone cold sober.
