Debate Backlash: Many Democrats Say Criticizing Obama’s Legacy Isn’t A Good Idea

Following a contentious debate among Democratic White House contenders Wednesday, a number of party leaders aren’t thrilled that some of the candidates focused on attacking former President Barack Obama’s legacy as a way to challenge Joe Biden.

In one of the debate’s hottest exchanges, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey called out the former vice president ― the frontrunner in the Democratic nomination race ― for repeatedly using Obama’s name to shield himself from criticism directed his way on issues like criminal justice and immigration.

“Mr. vice president, you can’t have it both ways,” Booker said, referring to Biden’s ― and Obama’s ― record on immigration, which saw a record number of undocumented immigrants deported during their eight-year administration. “You invoke President Obama more than anybody in this campaign. You can’t do it when it’s convenient and then dodge it when it’s not.”

**SNIP**

Democrats are “having an honest conversation about an administration that was incredible,” Booker said. “And I’m sure (if) Barack Obama was sitting here ... He will tell you, ‘I made some mistakes.’”

Actually the lack of criticism of Obama and the party taking the fall for his shenanigans have been the main reason driving people away from democrats. The press is suffering the same fate, shielding him to the point of ridicule instead of letting him stand to take the hits

Anyone not left of the extreme leftist like Mussolini to them is an ultra right. Not sure which will outdo the other, jumping from a building and asking America to follow

Twitter did the same.

If these companies think that attempting to rig election outcomes is within their set of lawful privileges, they have another think coming.

Yup. Saw this. They are warning everyone.

To my fellow Democrats. Be wary of attacking the Obama record. Build on it. Expand it. But there is little to be gained - for you or the party - by attacking a very successful and still popular Democratic President.

Eight years of outright lies and Soviet-style propaganda convinced many Democrats that they’d been had in 2008; very few (primarily public employees and bureaucrats) could say they were better off than 8 years before, and most could say the opposite - they were hurting. Hillary wasn’t the primary reason Trump was elected - Obama was (and the Dems attacking his reign confirm that).

This BS about Michelle Obama posing a serious threat to Trump in the event she ran is absurd; they were political pawns controlled by the wealthy white liberals that fed the teleprompter, and blacks more than any other group realize that now.

The entire 0bamma resign was paid for by Soros and he even sent ValJar to hold his hand on a day to day basis. 0bama was a sock puppet from the day he was born (even WHERE he was born is controversial, it was Kenya because that was “cool” until it wasn’t and then his birthplace magically moved overnight).

That whole teleprompter nonsense was pathetic; you could see the strings being pulled through it. I remember it malfunctioned once, and he literally stopped his speech: “We’re having some problems here” (nervously laughing). In the end, the “first black president” who campaigned to uplift blacks while opposing “gay marriage” ended up doing nothing for blacks (note that “Black Lives Matter” started while he was in office) and giving homosexuals more than they could ever hope for. In the end, Otoken’s legacy will always be reduced to this: “President Donald J. Trump”. They tried to destroy that legacy with nonsense about Russian meddling and a stolen election, but nobody buys it - Americans voters were fed up.
