Hard to come up with an adequate description for Stumbo. I hope he loses, but hillbilly voters love him. They seem to revel in sleezy candidates. Boss Hogg types are their models.
He lost his House seat as the incumbent Speaker of the House...there are video clips of him praising Obama which were heavily played in that race and he lost. The love for him soured when he was actually seriously challenged - that race and this AG race will be the only times he has been seriously challenged with anything other than token opposition.
