I have been ignoring jury notices for some time now SCREW THEM!!! The rule of law is DEAD in this country two tiered justice system!!! I swear if I would not lose my house I would NEVER pay another penny in taxes!!! I have been very tempted to sell the house park the money under a mattress and SCREW paying another penny in taxes!!! The ONLY damn department in government I give a shit about is the military!!! The rest can go straight to hell in a hand basket!!! They have weaponized the IRS, CIA, FBI, STATE DEPT. ...... and WE pay these BASTARDS salaries with OUR TAXES!!! I am BEYOND MAD, way beyond it!!!!
This is why it is absolutely critical that informed people do what they can to get on juries. As a member of a jury, you have more power than in almost any other time in your life. You get to judge not only the facts of the case, but the law itself. One of the biggest reasons prohibition was repealed was because it had come to the point that juries were just letting people walk.
As far as I'm concerned, in any trial, when it's the word of a citizen against the word of any representative of the government, the citizen wins unless there is substantial physical evidence to the contrary. As a trivial example, if a cop says "John Doe was speeding", and is expecting you to convict on that alone, it ain't happening if I'd have anything to say about it.
