Night 1 of CNN’s Democratic presidential debate on Tuesday attracted 8.7 million viewers, according to the cable network, a significant decline in ratings from the first debate of the 2020 election cycle.
The network also recorded 2.8 million starts for its livestream from the historic Fox Theatre in Detroit. The network said in a statement that combined viewership was 9.2 million when its other services, CNN en Español and CNN Digital, are included.

I thought I just saw another headline claiming 10m viewers.... I trust this viewer rating stuff about as much as Polls.
They probably count nursing home audiences, airport audiences where the tv is on, but nobody is actually watching.
I put the debates on for my dogs, because they pooped on the floor and needed punishment. So, there were two viewers counted...
This is a joke, right? 10Million is a low number. This is less.
I wish a lot of people would watch.
As I told my wife (in more polite terms), I cannot watch as a bunch of goofballs try to one-up each other by bragging about pissing away my retirement and my savings and every last penny I own and giving it to people who don't appreciate America or actually hate me because of my skin color or sex or sexual preference.
Terrible TV viewer numbers for the second Democrat Party, 2020 POTUS candidates debate. Only a paltry 3.0 percent of the American people (330,000,000) and voters tuned in to the dying CNN & the Democrat Party. The miserable numbers were 8.5 million, down from the first debate held last June. That is a 7,000,000 viewer decline from the 15,500,000 viewer audience for the first debate held in June. Democrat Party dying by its own hand of failure!!!
In addition, the famous after debate Drudge Report Straw Poll was also terrible, with Democrat outlier, Marianne Williamson slaughtering all Democrats by garnering a massive 47.5% win over the failing Demoicrat candidates....amazing!!! thw word passing around thisa afternoon is that Democrat, failed, useless Mayor, Bill De Blasio will win the Drudge Report Straw Poll this evening...we shall have to wait and see it that occurs!!!
And people waiting in line for their food at our local Wendys.
The true number is half the number of people who started watching it, as I think nearly everyone either changed channels or fell asleep half way through that debate.
What a snoozefest!
Especially now that Trump is on the scene, raising the bar on exciting political dialogue through his rallies, debates and tweets.
It is clear that the vast majority of American voters have turned their backs and votes against the Democrat Party. I had predicted that the living, walking, moron, buffoon, Democrat, Joe Biden would not last for more then four weeks as a viable 2020 POTUS candidate.
I was dead wrong as Biden now leads the entire pack of useless, Democrat wannabees for POTUS. Why? As the numbers are now proving, Biden only leads because not one, not one of the other announced candidates have a decent chance at defeating the current POTUS, Donald J. Trump!!! Of course, if Biden is the Democrat nominee...he will be slaughtered politically by POTUS Trump, defeated in a massive landslide victory for DJT!!!
Too many people just do not have cable anymore.
And the below 30 crowd, do you think they are paying for cable?

They got a bump from a couple flight delays.
It was 15 million for the first debate.
Not bad out of 355 million. ROTFL.
Freak show spectacles are passé.
