FBI agents discovered suspicious items Friday afternoon at the Robinson home of a man shot and killed by law enforcement officials at the home the morning before. Waco Fire Department hazmat crews and the McLennan County Sheriffs Office bomb unit were called back to the home Friday, but no other information was given about the nature of the items. FBI Special Agent Michelle Lee said the suspicious items were found while FBI agents processed the scene at the property.
These teams will remain on scene for the duration of our operations to secure any additional items which may be found. We remain in contact with the Robinson Police Department, Lee said in a statement. Every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of the public, which is our highest priority.
The discovery comes one day after the shooting during a court-authorized law enforcement operation in the 700 block of Stegall Drive on Thursday morning. Several federal law enforcement officers remained in the neighborhood Friday collecting, documenting and investigating evidence related to the operation, FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs said Friday morning, before the suspicious items were found.
An FBI SWAT team came to the residence here on East Stegall (Drive) to serve a court-authorized law enforcement action, Combs said during a morning press conference. During that activity, there were shots fired, one subject I can say is deceased at this residence. Combs declined to identify the man killed at the home, but he confirmed an FBI agent was involved in the shooting.

Waco?
There’s your problem right there, Lady.
Texans don’t call it Zimbabwaco for nothing.
bkmk
Forget it, Jake...its Waco...
The discovery comes one day after the shooting during a court-authorized law enforcement operation
Court authorized. Whew!
Good thing the FBI had a whole day to get those ‘suspicious items’ in place so they could cover up the shooting.
I no longer believe a single word that comes from the FBI.
Not one.
L
No doubt.
I no longer believe a single word coming from any LE agency, including my State police, Sheriff, and Town Constable. They’re all corrupt and wouldn’t hesitate to cover up a mistake on their part. The FBI is a reflection of local LE on steroids.
Court authorized execution? Who and why? And a day later after how many people going through the house they find something suspicious. Yeah, right. But, as others note, this is Waco so likely business as usual.
More black booted thuggery.
The wording of this article is very suspicious.
Makes me wonder if the guy had something on the Clintons or some other politician.
smart, very smart
On steroids. I agree.
I think many of the rank and file are just rank.
From the same paper:
Autopsy order identifies man killed by FBI
A Robinson man shot and killed by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents last week was identified as Joshua Steven Mitchell, 44, by an autopsy order.
Still, its a strange story. It sounds like the FBI expected to find explosives but found something else. Theyre still not talking, however.
Given that it is the new-age FBI, their statement should have read: These teams will remain on scene for the duration of our operations to secure any additional items which may be found planted... The child porn files, MAGA hats, white supremacy documents, and homophobic hate literature haven't arrived from DC yet..."
Yep! The FBI in Waco... Like saying the chicoms have invaded from mexico... (Again, if you believe the movie...)
Joshua Steven Mitchell, age 44
Biggest mistake he made was threatening the FBI. People never learn.
