Our ‘coyotes’ have gray wolf DNA, so they’re bigger than your average coyote. We puree the liver and heart and our cat loves it. Fishers are a bigger threat than a fox for us.

“Fishers are a bigger threat than a fox for us.”

I never seen an in the flesh Fisher, but I’ve heard they are quite predatory.

I don’t think the wolf DNA coyote is in Virginia commonly but then I have heard that most coyotes on the East Coast have that DNA. I’ve seen only one and it really didn’t look that big but it definitely was not a fox it was a coyote because I’ve seen coyote in Arizona quite a bit when I used to work out there and I can tell the difference.

The coyote was late at night on a country road and there was a neighborhood and the coyote was across the road in a field getting ready to cross the road into the neighborhood. My headlights stalled it and it froze until I passed, and when I passed I noticed that it was a coyote. I wonder if the eating was good in that neighborhood because he looked intent on getting in there.

My sisters farm in Tennessee has coyotes around, you hear them at night. Lots if deer where she lives.
