Don't Get Cocky, But Things Look Good for Trump
PJ Media ^ | 07/30/2019 | Mark Ellis

Posted on 07/30/2019 9:15:29 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

The Trump-aligned conservative mind surveys the cultural and political landscape and thinks: We’ve got this.

Mueller, at the hearings, like some disinterred mortician, victim of his own faded glory, age, and the ignominious designs of Hillary-aligned mortuary scientists.

The reprehensible “squad,” embodiments of the subversive enemies from within our Founding Fathers warned about.

The ugliness of an individual like Elijah Cummings, turning with subpoenas after the crash and burn of the Mueller/Weissmann Report to family emails, harassing the women and children after failing to take down the man. Al Green, the deranged impeach-o-phile.

Speaker Pelosi and a Democrat Party that has lost a vital plurality of the national electorate, seeking to replace what won’t ever return with an unchecked flood of illegal immigration.

A racially-obsessed, politically “correct” leftist underbelly, whose vision for America is as alien as the hordes marching north from Central America.

The Democrat candidates, one and all.

The Trump-aligned conservative mind sees all this and thinks,

Our guy can’t lose in 2020.

It is a defensible perspective, which equates “crazy” with victory. This Tea Party-infused, nationalist appraisal of what is happening hinges on the idea that the left has gone over some existential deep end, fallen off the edge of the world, as if radical leftism and TDS had made the world flat. Fallen into a netherworld of tortured ideation and hate.

This perspective is evermore convinced in the wake of the Nadler/Schiff Deep State debacle that the Democrat expenditure of rounds has mortally wounded only them.

Old Han Solo surfaces in the psyche: Don’t get cocky.

What we know now is how far the left will go, that there is virtually nothing they won’t do. And it’s unsettling what is apparent they will do.

But bearing witness to constant pursuit and unremitting failure builds a spiritual fortification, inspires raw confidence. The question becomes, “What haven’t they thrown at the 45th president?”

Where do you go from calling President Trump a traitor, racist, sex-abuser, and unjust receiver of ice cream scoops? What avenue of attack is left in the arsenal after you’ve called a man a “Nazi" and watched his numbers rise?

The answers to these questions are coming. Until the day Trump leaves office, which many Trump-aligned conservatives believe will be in January 2025, the diabolically-rabid Deep State captains along with the sinking Democrats and their media accomplices will never accept him as our commander-in-chief. Even should the president pull off a George W. Bush/2004 reminiscent hands-down win next year, it will always be different with Trump, the abiding denial, the intractable, scorched-earth resistance.

Perhaps only a Republican landslide win—House, Senate, and White House (Don’t get cocky)—will turn the tide against this left-wing malevolence. Will halt in its tracks a leftist-liberal dystopia that would destroy the country.

Only then might the ghost of a Democrat patriot like Zell Miller whisper in the ear of some charismatic and moderate young Democrat, saying, You’ve got to take the party in a new direction.

Such a candidate will be the Democrats’ only hope of forestalling the administration of a President Pence.

For years now, establishment Republicans have warned about the dangers to conservatism coming from a new coalition, comprised of malleable moderates, women, and people of color, admonishing and formulating campaigns (Jeb!) around the need to court this coalition. This advice peaked around the time of Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection.

They were partially correct. There is a new coalition. They just got it wrong about from whence this new coalition would spring, and what characteristics would define its core. There’s a new, unbeatable plurality, thanks to the Kavanaugh/Covington haters, Antifa, people like Waters, Nadler, and Schiff. The haranguing, ingrate “squad.”

There is hope on the horizon thanks to abominations like the Mueller probe, and the Mueller/Weissmann report, written by ruthless partisans, sent by Deep State “grocery clerks, to collect a bill.” In a turnabout among the strangest in U.S history, they delivered a bill that they themselves must now pay.

A new coalition: the nation’s working and middle class. Legal immigrants who understand how easily all could be lost. Everyday citizens of all political stripes, repulsed by arbitrary justice, calculated bias, and unforgiving hatred. Add a healthy segment of African Americans, who realize that they indeed had nothing much to lose, and have begun to acquire what the race-baiting Democrats never delivered for them.

This is the new coalition the Trump-aligned conservative mind sees, and believes will carry the day.

Unfortunately a month is an eternity in politics.

15 months to go.

Overconfidence will kill us next year as surely as a bullet would.

True but Trump has been on a winning streak since the day he announced just over four years ago.

They try and try but they just can't bring this man down nor can they erode his support.

Now Trump has his sea legs and he's getting things done at a faster and faster pace.

Excellent.

But, remember, good news or bad, good polls or bad, the most important thing is to make sure to get out and VOTE!!!

“...Now Trump has his sea legs and he’s getting things done at a faster and faster pace....”

Yes, this is his campaign momentum and the RATS (both kinds) are working hard to help him. Played right, 2020 is already over.....only the degree is unknown.

As long as the economy keeps humming along and unemployment remains historically low, it’s looking real good.

Progs’ self-destructive obsession with calling anyone they don’t like a racist or anything with a “phobic” suffix helps as well.

President Trump has a couple of good things in his favor.

1. The economy.
2. The illegal immigration issue.
3. Fighting against crime/ cleaning up the urban areas.
4. Rebuilding the military.
5. Showing true leadership.

Plus the old race card is in a increasing manner being declined.

George HWB had a ridiculously high approval rating but, unfortunately, that was not on election day. Which is why Bill became president.

The good news is that I think Trump understands Timing. e.g. people were fretting about the fence, and that it was his main campaign promise and it didn’t happen. But look where we are now and, more importantly, where it will probably be when people are casting their votes. And the fun part is that it is on the minds of everybody now, not just his base.

He won that one, when everybody was either excited, or fretting, that it would be his watershed moment and a loss.

I’m going to vote for Trump whether I’m feeling optimistic (cocky) or not. What difference does it make how I feel about the possibility of a win? NONE!

Remember what George HW Bush said that derailed his re-election.

The author seems to be blissfully unaware of the demographic time bomb that is ticking.

Yeah, things are looking good for Trump to get re-elected next year. But the electorate continues to shift leftward, and that trend will accelerate as increasing numbers of baby boomers assume room temperature.

My fear is that by 2024 Pence may be too socially conservative to be voted in by a socially libertine country.

Another thing to realize is that four years ago at this time, it was the "Summer of Trump" (as coined by MSM at the time). He dominated the news cycle and drowned all the other Republican candidates out.

Of course, nobody thought at the time that Trump would actually win so MSM thought this was helping their cause (and Hillary).

Four years later, who on the Democrat side is getting even close to the attention that Trump got during that summer of 2015? I know we political junkies know who the Democrat candidates are but ask the average guy on the street and I think most of them would be hard pressed to name just three Democrat candidates for president.

None of them are getting traction and Trump continues to dominate the news cycles.

Regarding the economy...just the other day the London Telegraph reported that the German economy is now in free fall.If that's true our economy could well be negatively impacted.
