Joe Bidens been in Washington D.C. for nearly 50 years and hes finally got a plan.
Too bad, its not much of one.
Former Vice President Joe Biden released his Criminal Justice campaign platform just in time for the second Democratic presidential candidate debate to be held in Detroit. Hes up to his old tricks. Denunciate. Conflate. Obfuscate.
Bidens plan to fight crime squarely places his latest target on the NRA, a civil rights organization dedicated to protecting Second Amendment rights. His campaign website features an entire section a key component to his Plan for Strengthening Americas Commitment to Justice.
In the months ahead, Biden will also detail his plan to tackle the public health epidemic of gun violence in America, starting with universal background checks and bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
DENUNCIATE
First, a quick primer. Biden struck out at gun manufacturers as the enemy in the last debate. He didnt call American gun makers, companies that produce firearms for law-abiding citizens, law enforcement and our military as opponents, adversaries, or foes. His language was very clear.
In fact, not a single candidate on the stage disagreed or denounced the statement then, or since. Their silence is agreement. They dont think Biden was off the mark.
CONFLATE
Biden travels the well-worn anti-gun trail by lumping together two groups that actually have nothing in common. He equates the NRA its members who are law-abiding Americans with criminals. He purposefully mislabels those who oppose his attack on American rights with those who have no respect for authority, rule of law, property or even life.
He further conflates issues by categorizing so-called gun violence with a health epidemic. Joes attempting to rebrand crime as a public health issue. This only ensures the problem of criminals preying on our societys most vulnerable will never be solved. There is no pill that cures crime. It requires elected officials to have the fortitude to confront criminal activity and give law enforcement the tools to fight it. It also means respect the rights of lawful gun owners who resist becoming victims to crime.
OBFUSCATE
Biden is not a newcomer to smoke-screening issues. Hes been in politics since 1970, and in Washington, D.C., for all but three of those years. Instead of tackling crime head on, he clouds the issue by wrapping it in hyper-charged but meaningless terms. He proposes universal background checks and bans on so-called assault rifles and the high-capacity magazines that go with them.
Biden refuses to face the reality that criminals, by definition, are criminal and flout the law. This punishes the law-abiding, but coddles the criminal. Universal background checks sounds nice, if only those pesky criminals would bother coming in for a background check when they steal guns, illicitly trade and sell them on the black market or hand them off to another criminal.
Getting rid of assault weapons sounds nice, except civilians dont own them with rare exception. Civilians do own semiautomatic modern sporting rifles that fire one round with each pull of the trigger. Bidens following the Josh Sugarmann playbook of playing on ignorance of automatic military firearms and semiautomatic rifles because they have a similar appearance. It helps when PolitiFact covers for Biden and says his ban plan is all but a ban, since its just assault rifles.
Of course, the 16 million lawful private owners wouldnt be nearly as scary if Biden could just ban those scary magazines, which the New York attorney general recently called rapid fire bullet delivery systems." Biden helped ban both rifles and magazines before, but it had no effect on reducing crime.
Bidens not serious about fighting crime. Hes only serious about using the firearms industry and gun owners as a punching bag throughout the campaign season. If he were serious, hed support NSSFs effort to pass the Federal Firearms Licensee Protection Act, that would strengthen penalties for burglaries and robberies of firearms retailers. Criminals conducting smash-and-grabs by plowing through store doors and walls and walking out with armfuls of guns are the threat to our communities we should confront together. Its part of the industrys Operation Secure Store, to prevent these thefts from occurring.
Its just one of several of the firearms industrys real solutions for safer communities. While Joe Bidens offering the same talking points for decades, were taking action.
What??? All these years he’s been holding out on the cure for cancer AND gun crime until he becomes President? What a jerk. He let his own son die of brain cancer so I guess it would make sense he would let other people’s children die from gun violence.
Go for it, Joe!
Gun Control is a winning issue in the Presidential Elections!
/sarc if you haven’t guessed already.
A major problem for the Democrats in choosing Joe Biden as their nominee is that he only rises in the polls when he’s out of public view. His 15% rise in support over the past month coincided with his virtual disappearance from the media.
But a presidential candidate can’t stay out of the spotlight during the run-up to a presidential election. If Joe Biden tries to, Donald Trump will be able to attack him as a coward and continually mock him by representing him as an empty chair at Trump rallies. Trump’s conversations with Joe’s empty chair would be hilarious, thereby drawing additional thousands of wildly cheering and laughing Trump fans to his rallies.
I’ll just follow the instructions Slow-Joe gave to Jill: Get a shotgun and fire some rounds off the balcony to scare away home invaders.
I look at all the polls covering the 2020 Democrat Party POTUS race and am stunned and amazed at the lead the Joe Biden has established and held on to. Shucks, I predicted Joe Biden would not last four weeks after his announcement that he had become a candidate for POTU in 2020. factis; Biden is naught but a ranting buffoon that really belong in a home for senile old men.
Then lightening struck me....and I realized what was really a happening. The bottom line is: Most Democrats have come to the conclusion that Biden is the best they have to offer. The rest of the field of Democrat candidates are simply twisted Sisters and brothers...going nowhere, politically.
Of course, POTUS, Trump will politically slaughter democrat, Joe Biden in the general POTUS election...period.
Now...if you loyal, dedicated, good Trumpster supporters want to politically destroy the entire Democrat Party in one fell swoop...just turnout about 100,000 Trump supporters this coming Thursday evening at his MEGA/MAGA political campaign rally being held in the U.S. Bank Arena (Capacity, 18,000 people) in Cincinnati, Ohio....Do It!!! Joe can’t wait to get China’s economy going again ,LOL
Just ask Joe.
One of the all-time bodacious federal scams was Obama’s “stimulus program.” All the Democrats got filthy rich on that
Obama appointed then-VP Biden to “oversee stimulus money distribution.” To date, there is no full accounting of where that all went.
Missing in Action: Stimulus Sheriff Joe Biden

Remember when President Obama bragged about Joe Biden’s fiscal discipline creds in 2009? “To you, he’s Mr. Vice President, but around the White House, we call him the Sheriff,” Obama warned government employees. “Because if you’re misusing taxpayer money, you’ll have to answer to him.” Fast-forward to 2012. Call in the search teams. Since being appointed the nation’s stimulus spending cop, Sheriff Joe has taken a permanent donut break. He’s AWOL on oversight. In fact, he’s been bubble-wrapped, boxed and kept completely out of sight. The garrulous gaffe machine hasn’t sat down for a national media interview in five months.
The Democrats’ trillion-dollar “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” however, keeps piling up waste, failure, fraud and debt. Who benefited most? Big government cronies. According to Investor’s Business Daily this week, a new analysis by Ohio State University economics professor Bill Dupor reported that “(m)ore than three-quarters of the jobs created or saved by President Obama’s economic stimulus in the first year were in government.”
Dupor and another colleague had earlier concluded that the porkulus was a predictable jobs-killer that crowded out non-government jobs with make-work public jobs and programs. Indeed, the massive wealth redistribution scheme “destroyed/forestalled roughly one million private sector jobs” by siphoning tax dollars “to offset state revenue shortfalls and Medicaid increases rather than boost private sector employment.”
Will this Keynesian wreckage come up during Thursday night’s vice presidential debate? It should be a centerpiece of domestic policy discussion. Nowhere is the gulf between Obama/Biden rhetoric and reality on jobs wider. Remember: Obama’s Ivy League eggheads behind the stimulus promised that “(m)ore than 90 percent of the jobs created are likely to be in the private sector.” These are the same feckless economic advisers who infamously vowed that the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent — and that unemployment would drop below 6 percent sometime this year. Sheriff Joe rebuked the “naysayers” who decried the behemoth stimulus program’s waste, fraud and abuse. “You know what? They were wrong,” he crowed.
But Biden was radio silent about the nearly 4,000 stimulus recipients who received $24 billion in Recovery Act funds — while owing more than $750 million in unpaid corporate, payroll and other taxes. (Cash for Tax Cheats, anyone?)
He had nothing to say about the $6 billion in stimulus energy credits for homeowners that went to nearly a third of credit-claimers who had no record of homeownership, including minors and prisoners.
And the $530 million dumped into the profligate Detroit public schools for laptops and other computer equipment that have had little, if any, measurable academic benefits. And the whopping $6.7 million cost per job under the $50 billion stimulus-funded green energy loan program — which funded politically connected but now bankrupt solar firms Solyndra ($535 million), Abound Solar ($400 million), Beacon Power ($43 million), A123 ($250 million) and Ener1 ($119 million).
And the $1 million in stimulus cash that went to Big Bird and Sesame Street “to promote healthy eating,” which created a theoretical “1.47” jobs. (As Sean Higgins of The Examiner noted, “(T)hat comes out to about $726,000 per job created.”)
And the hundreds of millions in stimulus money steered to General Services Administrations junkets in Las Vegas and Hawaii, ghost congressional districts, dead people, infrastructure to nowhere and ubiquitous stimulus propaganda road signs stamped with the shovel-ready logo.
Of course, there’s no example of unfettered stimulus squandering more fitting than the one named after Keystone Fiscal Kop Joe Biden himself. Government-funded Amtrak’s Wilmington, Del., station raked in $20 million in “recovery” money after heavy personal lobbying by the state’s most prominent customer and cheerleader. In return, the station (which came in $6 million over budget, according to The Washington Times) renamed its facility after Biden. Bloated costs. Crony political narcissism. Glaring conflicts of interest. Monumental waste. This is the Obama/Biden stimulus legacy bequeathed to our children and their grandchildren. Sheriff Joe and his plundering boss need to be run out of town on a rail.

Joe Biden - designated loser for 2020. Democrats have not a prayer of winning the Presidency in the next election, but they have a much better shot in 2024. That is what is going on, what the field is being winnowed for, not this election, but to shape and groom the NEXT Presidential campaign.
The rest of the current field, having not lost to Trump by an overwhelming margin, will be up again and campaigning about 20 minutes after Trump gets sworn in to his second term in January 2021.
