That WAS the law until a few months ago; now, you have to be 21 to purchase a long gun.

The guns Legan purchased were done in Nevada. In Nevada you must be at least 18 years of age to buy a rifle or shotgun and 21 to buy a handgun from a federal firearms dealer.
