Baltimore once had a huge employment engine located at the industrial Sparrow Point region of Baltimore. Globalists never protected American heavy industry, selling it out to the third world and others, which destroyed Sparrow Point as an economic engine and caused great social/political upheaval. Squalid economically blighted eastern cities were caused by the systematic off shoring of heavy industry. This is the root cause of the problem and it was the globalist right wing Establishment, not the Democrats, that caused the original social problem with these once very economically viable cities. The Democrats were just the secondary infection.

You’re right about Sparrows Point, once it went down Baltimore folded.
Western Electric closed up due to break up of the AT&T monopoly and General Motors left where all the car manufacturers from Detroit went.
