Maggie Haberman of the NYT reported that Richard Burr (NC-R) has come out and told the administration that he feels the appointment is too political.
That is the same Richard Burr that STILL can not finish his own Russia interference investigation.
Frustrating!!!!!

No surprise. Look how the “GOP” Senate sunk Trump’s MAGA Fed picks. Above all the GOP simply does not want Trump to have a support on his flanks because they want to control the beltway agenda.
Burr, etc., have little to fear from the GOP base with Trump on the ballot in 2020.
Burr is a Bush League Republican who abdicated his committee chair to Mark Warner.
Since that's in the NYT, one cannot assume it's true. If true, I'd like to know...where was he during eight years of Obie, when the entire federal government was politicized, weaponized and trained on the right?
Selective 'concern' is not 'concern,' but opportunism.
He's missing the perfect opportunity to shut up.
