I, the daughter of a D.C. cop, and Carl, the son of an Illinois plumber, were hilariously painted as decadent aristocrats reveling like Marie Antoinette when we should have been knitting like Madame Defarge.

I'm not really too up on the French Revolution, but is this just like the Montagnards turning on the Sans-Culottes? Or the Jacobins? Mo Do better watch out, the new left avant grade is taking no prisoners.

She got her revolutions wrong I think. This is more like the Bolsheviks turning on the Mensheviks. Because leftism is built on always shifting values and goals, newer leftists eventually turn on their old heroes. That seems to be a historical constant, and at least we get to enjoy watching them eat their own.
