Police and emergency personnel late Sunday responded to reports of a shooting involving multiple victims at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Ambulance crews were told 11 people were down in an active shooter incident at Gilroy's Christmas Hill Park.

GILROY, CA — A shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Christmas Hill Park has left multiple victims, according to a report. A police dispatcher wouldn't immediately confirm whether there was a shooting Sunday night, saying only "we are extremely busy."
Video posted on social media showed people running away from the festival as at least one sound resembling a gunshot rings out.
The shooting involved at least two victims at the festival, KNTV reported. The three-day festival has been running since 1979, according to the event's website. It features "garlicky food, live entertainment, and family fun." The event was to run until 6 p.m. Sunday.
David Leonard tweeted he was driving on U.S. Route 101 when he saw about 30 emergency responders heading south with lights activated, including sheriff's deputies, highway patrol troopers ad unmarked cars.
