This weekend hundreds of teachers across the country will be getting training to carry concealed handguns at school. July 20th is National Train a Teacher Day with free training being offered for teachers by 239 instructors in 42 states.

Why are so many teachers just the weirdest damn people?
Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach.
Teachers want to help other people’s kids to not be messed up like them.
Teaching degrees are easy and you get summers off.
Adult children like to be around children.
I’ve been told to give teachers great respect. Sorry, been around them, can’t.
They don’t start out that way. The kids turn them that way.
In the wrong neighborhood this could be taken seriously the wrong way.
I teach Industrial Tech in a rural High School where life skills are essential for many of my students. As a Christian veteran, I view my work a s a ministry opportunity and love the opportunity to model manhood and adulthood to these kids. Last year, I took a course offered by a local organization, applied for my CCW and proudly carry as often as I can. Sadly, schools in our area would rather hire Resource Officers than provide trained staff as an alternate - maybe one day. I will be prepared.

I get the point but most in reality have absolutely no right to teach children let alone handle a firearm.
