I lived in Baltimore and suburbs since the mid 1970’s. At first it was nice. The mayor was William Donald Shaefer. The City State’s Attorney, Chief of Police and around half the councilmen were white. It was a democrat bastion for sure but law and order prevailed. The next decade saw a new mayor. Lawyer with local prestige firm. Nice reticient black man. More brains than the last three women and the current guy combined. He was a nice guy and let the Jamaican drug gangs from New York in to spread the joy in Baltimore. Martin O’Malley, a white guy, did his term as mayor and he had a former NYC cop as his Police Chief. This guy took no guff and the streets were relatively safe with Stop and Frisk in place just like in NYC. Then O’Malley did the natural and won the governor race. The succession of black women mayors cemented Baltimore’s Shit Hole Status. Cummings and his cronies are the dregs of the cess pit and need to be flushed all the way. God bless Trump for calling a spade a spade.
