Pelosi's dad (Thomas Ludwig John D'Alesandro Jr.) was Congressman from Maryland's 3rd congressional district between 1939 and 1947 and the mayor of Baltimore from 1947 to 1959.
Nancy Pelosi can take pride in the fruit of her father's work in Baltimore today.
