Yep, I’ve heard they both enjoyed opera, and bonded over opera, in spite of their judicial philosophical differences.
I’ve been able to talk about sports and other common interests with people who are more liberal. It can be done. Liberals do not have to demonize and dehumanize their political opponents as they too often seem to do.
In this case, to hear that Kavanaugh is a decent human being from someone liberal is nice to hear. From what was said about him, his entire life was defined by an alleged event of two teenagers rolling around on a bed when they were 17. The poor woman was so traumatized she needs to be in a house with two front doors. Etc. etc.
In her defense, she is not new to this.
She was a very close friend of the late Antonin Scalia.
Of course she likes him! The newest SC Justice is the one that answers the door, keeps the riff-raff OUT, handles the SCOTUS Hotline, delivers the morning coffee and danish, does the lunch runs and rubs Ruthie’s feet with Corn Huskers Lotion twice a day!
What’s not to like? ;)
>>>beyond just mere tolerance of different views to welcoming different views because they enrich our society.<<<
Uh, no Ruthie. Some people think that many of those “different views” are detrimental to our Republic but they choose to tolerate them rather than support them.
Our Forefathers understood that when those “different views” go too far, there is anther remedy.
Gorush did same for a few months.
Aw, so that’s why CNN had such a long segment on her yesterday. I thought it was so they wouldn’t have to admit the Mueller fiasco. Funny, they never mentioned anything about Kavanaugh.
